1. Improved Anti-Scratch
the smooth surface of the lens ensures that it is not scratched even during wiping.
Testing Method: examined the lens tendency to scratch by repeatedly rubbing it with steel wool #0000 a the weight of 600g
Result: The SC lens, with improved water-and oil-repellent function can withstand 3 times of more scratches than ordinary lens.
2. Improved Anti-Smudge:
increased smoothness of the lens ensure that it does not get smudged as easily as ordinary water repellent coated lenses.
Testing Method: Examined how much of the ink from oil-based marker (black) remained on the lens surface after wiping it off with eyeglasses wiper.
Result: The lens, with improved water repellent function and smoothness, is four times less likely to get smudged than ordinary lenses.
3 .Improved Durability:
the durability of the SC coating increases the reliability of the lens.
Testing Method: The lens was repeatedly rubbed with a given eyeglasses wiper at the weight of 500g to examine the durability.
Result:the water repellent function and smoothness of the lens reminded intact even after 10,000 times of rubbing. Assuming that a user rubs his eyeglasses 10 times a day: 10,000 (10times X365 days) =2.6 years. It is recommended, however, that the lens be replaced every 6 to 12 months.
4. Improved Resistance to Various Climatic Conditions:
the product’s reliability was proved by examining its performance under various natural conditions.
Testing Method:The lens was tested for 200 hours under the harshest natural conditions possible, simulated in a special tester designed to construct an environment that is similar to nature.
Result:The lens retained most of its functions and performance even after the test.
